Motions To Modify Child Support In Rhode Island-modification Of Child Support By A Ri Family Lawyer

How is Child support modified in Rhode Island divorce and family law cases?
Child support in Rhode Island is not automatically modified when there is a change in circumstances. The parent must file a motion to modify child support. When a motion for modification of child support is filed a court date will be set by the clerk of the Rhode Island Family Court. In order to modify child support there must be a substantial change in circumstances. Under RI Law, a new child support amount does not run retroactive to when the circumstances actually changed! The new child support order should run retroactive to the date of the filing of the motion. Article by Attorney David Slepkow (401-437-1100)
Social Security Number Theft

While no doubt you have heard of different types of identity theft, you may not have heard a great deal about social security number theft. Most of the time when you think of identity theft you think of someone stealing your credit card number or other financial information. Although this can be dangerous and cause a myriad of problems, social security number theft is even worse.
What is Social Security Number Theft?
Social security number theft occurs when someone actually takes your social security number and creates a new identity under it. This means that not only is your number used for you, but also by the fake identity created by the identity thief. This new type of identity theft is much harder to catch as well, and many times people’s lives can spiral out of control before they even realize what has happened to them.
Patent Research, Part Ii
Posted on November 10, 2008 - Filed Under Legal and Law | Leave a Comment
Patent searches can be conducted in other ways. The Patent and Trademark Office distributes a weekly list of the patents that were successfully approved during the previous week. This listing is important in competitive patent categories such as pharmaceutical research, to keep abreast of the competition.
For more complicated searches, a visit to the library can be done to review the various patents. Another way in which to research previously issued patents is to use the Patent and Trademark Office’s “Classification and Search Information System (CASSIS)” to search for an old patent. “CASSIS” is available on CD-ROM for anyone who has a slow Internet connection, or anyone who wants to spend more time looking for a specific patent.
A Model Not To Live By – The Last Will And Testament

The death of Anna Nicole Smith has at least one valuable outcome, even if it is simply serving as a model of what happens if you die intestate, i. e. without a last will and testament.
One immediate point to take here, by the way, is the youth and vitality of the deceased. Few people who knew her, or knew about her, would have believed on that February morning that later that day they would hear that she was dead.
Wasn't there something about, "Ye know not the day nor the hour"?
I may have the quote wrong, but you get my drift. It's best to be prepared at any age if you have real concerns about what is going to happen to your estate, your heirs, or even your remains.
How To Deal With A Brain Injury Claim
Posted on November 3, 2008 - Filed Under Legal and Law | Leave a Comment
Experiencing a brain injury is quite a tough and undesirable situation. What more if it is caused by other party who misbehaves or cut short on proper warnings. Whether it is severe or just mild it should be given proper attention. A medical treatment will ease the pain and might as well heal the injured person but the lost opportunities to be productive and the amount of quality time to spend with his family should be properly compensated. A personal brain injury claim, for an instance, should be filed in order to attain justice.

This article briefly outlines what Medical Malpractice means in Virginia, from the letter of the law, to the process families undergo when filing a Medical Malpractice Claim. Policing The Internet

The Internet was created by the United States government for universities to exchange knowledge. In 1994 Bill Clinton let private companies open up the Internet to the general public. What happened next is the wild Wild West. If you wanted to say hateful or racist things that you would never say if others knew, you would say them. If you had snapped a naked picture of your neighbor. You could put it online and anyone with a 56kb modem could look and there basically wasn't anything anyone could do. Same deal with the URL address. Urls were basically given away, if someone else got there first they kept it. Things on the Internet are slowly changing as the Internet regulators tighten rules.
Disability Insurance – Being Adequately Protected Despite Of Disability

It is not a good thing to become sick and unable to report for work for an extended period. Being sick and absent for a few days is bad enough, but being forced in bed for an indeterminate period because of disability can be quite a frustrating situation.
Aside from the boredom and pain of being unable to move around, what makes your situation more frustrating than ever is the fact that you are not being paid for the time you spent having to be forced in your bed. If you are the breadwinner of your family then it is not only devastating for you, but your family suffers severely, too.

Avoiding Stock Photo Servitude...
Will the new-on-the-scene large corporate market-driven stock photo houses treat photographers and their photos as commodities?
History tells us the answer could very well be yes. Take the example of the cartoon syndicates established in the 1920’s under the guidance of newspaper king, William Randolph Hearst. He first introduced the concept of cartoon syndicates.
It works like this. The cartoonist signs a contract that says that the syndicate will promote the cartoon if the artist will follow a certain cartoon theme and style, and keep to it. The contract also states that the syndicate will own the copyright to the cartoon. Not the cartoonist.
How’s that? The syndicate owns the copyright?
